National Programs and Initiatives

YPP continues to be unique in its efforts to engage young people in using Math Literacy work as the foundation to prepare themselves to organize and lead and as a platform to launch or participate in programs and initiatives which create opportunities for YPP students to connect and build relationships with other young people, elders, artists, activitst, educators and organizers.

Some initiatives, like Training of Trainers and the Flagway Campaign help build and strengthen YPP's capacity to implement math literacy programs locally and develop math literacy programs nationally. Other initiatives, like Finding Our Folk and Quality Education as a Constitutional Right have become platforms for young people in YPP to exercise leadership and be part of organizing efforts that extend their work beyond specific issue areas.

Currently YPP is a partner organization to the The Masculinity Project (www.blackpublicmedia.com).
